This place is the superstar of middle eastern food. We usually order chicken shawarma plate as takeout for our Friday evenings and the food is always top notch. Order your takeout ahead of time as they can get busy.
Authentic lebanese flavors. Portions are huge. Will not put barbecue sauce on your shawarma don't bother asking (one more reason to give 5 stars). Vegetarian and vegan options available.
I was looking forward to trying this place but was really disappointed with the service. When I walked in, no one greeted me or even acknowledged that I was there. I stood at looking at the tv menu, and still not a word no “hi,” no “how can I help you,” nothing. Meanwhile, the owner was happily talking and laughing with other customers he seemed to know. To make things worse, when another customer walked in after me, she was greeted immediately. The whole situation felt very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. If this is how new customers are treated, I won’t be coming back.
The akawi cheese pie is the best I’ve tried in the city, the dough is amazing I definitely recommend. It takes some time so definitely give them a call.
The place is nice, we tried their manakeesh, food was good except for the spinach pie it needs more sumac. If Tarboush doesn’t want people to order pick up through Uber then the restaurant shouldn’t be on the app to begin with. Customers should feel free to order from wherever they like especially if they’re coming from out of town and don’t know the area.
I will not be recommending this place to anybody anymore for the bad customer service that I received today. Walked in ordered a cheese pie and 2 salads. Sat down, waiting for my order. A guy walks in 10 minutes after I have placed my order, and orders one cheese pie. Two minutes later, they give him a cheese pie. And I am still waiting. 15 minutes later I ask The guy how much longer is gonna be? He just puts the new cheese pie in the oven and jokingly says half an hour. The fact that they thought I was too oblivious to notice what happened and the fact that they gave the guy that cheese pie that was meant for me was very disrespectful.
I was disappointed when I ordered these once. the meat was less and we suppose to get each one separately. They put it together in the same bag and this is how looks like in the picture.
